A board created by interlocal agreement between the City of Spokane, City of Spokane Valley, other participating cities of Spokane County and Spokane County government. The Liaison Board arises under section 2.7 (c) of the Amended and Restated Interlocal Cooperation Agreement [OPR 88-864] dated April 10, 1989, as amended February 5, 1992. By further agreement with the City of Spokane Valley [OPR 2003-512], section 4C thereof, the Liaison Board now consists of 6 voting members, 2 appointed by the City, 2 by the County, 1 by the City of Spokane Valley and 1 by the other regional cities. Mission Statement/Purpose:
To recommend policy and provide oversight on matters pertaining to the management of solid waste and related environmental issues in both the City and County of Spokane. The members are all elected officials and serve at the discretion of their respective government bodies. Date, Time, and Location:
The Spokane Regional Solid Waste Liaison Board meets on the first Monday of February, June, November and December; and the third Monday of April and September, at 1:30 p.m. in the Council Briefing Center, City Hall.
