Councilman Allen was appointed in December 2007 to fill the District 2 Position 2 that was vacated when Mary Verner became Mayor. Originally from Omak, WA, Michael moved to the Spokane area in 1985 to attend Eastern Washington University. He has a degree in Finance and an MBA from EWU.

In addition to his council duties, Councilman Allen works for EWU as the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations. Other work experience includes Associate Athletic Director, Small Business/Investment Officer, Small Business Owner and Production Supervisor. Mike has also taught adjunct business courses over the past twelve years.

Mike is married with two children.
