City Council Member Jon Snyder Term: 2009 - 2012
Councilman Jon Snyder is serving his first term and is founder and owner of the award-winning Out There Monthly magazine and co-owner of the Go Green Directory. He is a proud graduate of Lewis and Clark High School and earned a degree in media studies at Evergreen State College. He and his wife Heidi Arbogast are developers of a historic building in Peaceful Valley where they live with their two children.
His priorities are:
- Completing our streets for all users. That includes cars, bikes, pedestrians, the disabled and public transit. Our streets need to be repaired and we must provide a wide range of transportation choices for our region.
- Supporting our small businesses. The city must be a better advocate for our small business and we must work to create a better entrepreneurial environment in our community.
- Protecting quality of life in our neighborhoods. Neighborhoods should be involved in the planning process and we need to work on making them walkable, “bikeable” with sensible density and a healthy tree canopy.
- Supporting the Comprehensive Plan and the Downtown Plan. Good long range planning saves taxpayer money and helps Spokane continue to grow as competitive mid-size city.
- Working hard to represent all of Spokane’s citizens.
