Community ServiceMayor Hession has longed believed it's critical to give back to your community through service and willingly gives of his time and experience to a variety of statewide and local boards and organizations. Governor Christine Gregoire has appointed Mayor Hession to serve on two important statewide boards: - Freight Mobility Strategic Investment Board
The Mayor is serving a three-year term that will run from March 13, 2007 through June 30, 2010. The Board designates strategic freight corridors within the state, reviews and evaluates freight mobility funding applications and makes recommendations to the Governor and Legislature on projects that will enhance freight mobility. - Washington Climate Change Challenge Advisory Team
The Mayor is one of 20 members of this team from around Washington state, which is charged with developing solutions to climate change issues for our state. The Governor is asking for recommendations for action by February 2008.
