Susan Ashe Director of Legislative and Public Affairs |
Susan directs the City of Spokane's government relations, including its state and federal legislative affairs. She works with the Mayor in consultation with senior administration, City Council, City departments, government affairs consultants and a variety of other important constituents. Background: Susan has more than 25 years of private business experience responsible for public policy management including strategic planning, issues management, and the implementation of strategies to successfully influence public policy at all levels of government. She has had success in both the state's and nation's capitols in securing funding for City needs, and on part-time leave in 2004 managed a successful campaign for citizen support for an over $117 million street repair bond. She has expertise in government relations, crisis communications and community relations. Susan has served on numerous boards of local and state civic and business organizations, and currently is a member of the SIRTI board of directors. She is an Eastern Washington University alumni, is a graduate of Leadership Spokane, is accredited by the International Association of Business Communicators, and has completed many professional and management courses. |
