Spokane has reigned over an area stretching hundreds of miles for almost two hundred years. It has been the largest city between Seattle and Minneapolis and between Calgary and Salt Lake City since it was founded in 1810.

The heart of Spokane has a very unique location. It is on the bank of the Spokane River right near the Falls. The Spokane River and its falls has been the focus for settlement since it was discovered.

Spokane has been the county seat since 1886. It has served as the hub of the Inland Northwest for over 150 years. This region consists of parts of Montana, Oregon, Idaho, British Columbia, Alberta, and of course, Washington. Over 2 million people now live in this trade zone.
