On November the 28th, elected the name “Spokane Falls.” The city was expanded to four square miles bounded by Mission Ave, 14th Ave, Hatch St, and Chestnut St. Spokane County was reduced to its present size by legislative act. The government was changed to the mayor-city council system. There were eight Councilmen elected from four divisions, there were also The City Attorney, City Clerk, City Marshall and City Treasurer who were elected. City Hall and Jail were located in a small building on the south side of Riverside Avenue between Lincoln and Monroe Street. The Chronicle also published a list of 100 businesses in town. |
