The City of Spokane is putting American Reinvestment and Recovery Act dollars to work for Spokane and its citizens.
At the direction of Spokane Mayor Mary Verner and the Spokane City Council, the City will invest these funds, according to federal guidelines, in projects that will create and save jobs, jump-start the economy, promote economy recovery and growth, and create a framework for clean, efficient American energy.
In addition, City staff members are investigating additional stimulus funding sources how they might be put to work for our community.
So far, the City is working on programs and projects totaling $17.5 million in stimulus funding. Transportation projects, law enforcement funding, and projects that help low-income families and neighborhoods are tops among these programs.
