The City of Spokane is putting American Reinvestment and Recovery Act dollars to work for Spokane and its citizens.
At the direction of Spokane Mayor Mary Verner and the Spokane City Council, the City will invest these funds, according to federal guidelines, in projects that will create and save jobs, jump-start the economy, promote economy recovery and growth, and create a framework for clean, efficient American energy.
In addition, City staff members are investigating additional stimulus funding sources and how they might be put to work for our community.
So far, the City is working on programs and projects totaling $19 million in stimulus funding. Transportation projects, law enforcement funding, and projects that help low-income families and neighborhoods are tops among these programs. The City is also working with other partners on projects totaling another $4 million that will improve internet connectivity to libraries and allow for home weatherization projects.
Attached is a table of information detailing those projects and programs of the City of Spokane.
