Because of a major upgrade to the City of Spokane’s utility billing system database, the City’s online utility bill pay service will be unavailable from Friday, Feb. 26, at 6 p.m. through approximately Monday, March 1, at 6 a.m.

Customers who pay their City of Spokane utility bill via the City’s web site at will not be able to access on-line account information during the upgrade. Alternate methods of payment are available, including the following:

  • Pay by Phone – Call the City’s toll-free service at 1-877-578-2200 24 hours/day, 7 days/week to use Visa or Mastercard, or have funds transferred electronically from your savings or checking account. Please have your utility account number handy when using this service.
  • Drop Boxes – Utility bill drop boxes are available at the northeast side of City Hall on Post Street just north of Spokane Falls Boulevard, at Hart & Dilatush Pharmacy at 501 W. Sprague Ave., and at Avista Utilities at 1411 E. Mission Ave.
  • Pay Stations – Payments can be made at Bates Pharmacy, 3704 N. Nevada St., Yokes Foods, 210 E. North Foothills Dr., and Yokes Foods, 3321 W. Indian Trail Road. Payments must be current; customers will need their original green & white utility bill.

This weekend’s upgrade will also prevent customers from accessing account information, including current balance and water consumption information, when calling the utilities billing line at (509) 625-6000. All other functions will be accessible, including transfer to pay by phone and emergency water reporting.

The City regrets any inconvenience this interruption in services may cause. Please contact the Utility Billing office at (509) 625-6000 to speak with a Customer Service Representative with any questions or concerns.
