The City of Spokane Salary Review Commission will hold its final meeting for 2010 on Wednesday, May 12, at 3 p.m. in Conference Room 2B in Spokane City Hall, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd.
During the meeting, the Commission will finalize its 2010 review and recommendation concerning City Council salaries. The Commission’s draft report is attached.
The Commission was created in 2008 to review and establish the salaries of the City’s Council President and Council Members. The ordinance requires the Commission to complete reviews during even-numbered years.
The Commission must file any decision to change salaries with the City Clerk by May 31. Any change would become effective Jan. 1, 2011. The Commission’s decisions don’t require City Council review or approval because City ordinance states that a separate, independent commission, rather than the City Council itself, should establish the salaries for the Spokane City Council
