WELLESLEY AVENUE FROM ASSEMBLY STREET TO DRISCOLL BOULEVARD SET TO BEGIN MONDAY, AUG. 30 This project will rehabilitate Wellesley Ave. from the east side Assembly St. through its intersection with Driscoll Blvd. The project will also replace an 8- and 12-inch water distribution main. Traffic will be detoured at Garland Ave. to Assembly St. onto Rowan Ave. and then Alberta St.
The $1 million project is being funded by the Federal Government and City of Spokane.

37th AVENUE FROM GRAND BOULEVARD TO PERRY STREET SET TO BEGIN WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 11 The project to fully rehabilitate 37th Ave. from Grand Blvd. to Perry St. curb-to-curb including installing new curbs and sidewalks on the south side of the street is set to begin on Wednesday, Aug. 11. Motorists will be detoured to Perry St., 29th Ave., and Grand Blvd.
The $647,000 project is being funded by the 10-Year Street Bond and Spokane Transit Authority. |

Second Ave. from Sunset Hwy. to Howard St. Set to Begin Monday, Aug. 2
The project will rehabilitate Second Avenue from Sunset Highway to Howard Street and replace a 12-inch water distribution main, and catch basins as needed. Second Avenue from Sunset Highway to Howard Street will be reduced to one lane of traffic.
The $2.1 million project is being funded by the 10-Year Street Bond and City of Spokane Water and Wastewater departments. |

Hartson and 11th Avenues from Havana Street to Sherman Street WATER Transmission Main
The project will replace a 36-inch with a 42-inch water transmission main in Hartson and 11th avenues from Havana to Sherman streets. The project will also repair the following streets: 11th Ave. from Altamont Blvd. to Julia St. and N. Altamont Blvd. from 11th to Ninth avenues; and Ninth Ave. from Perry to Julia streets. Ninth Ave. from Perry St. to N. Altamont Blvd. is closed to motorists. Motorists are detoured to Thor and Ray streets. Local access is being maintained.
The $3.5 million project is funded by the City of Spokane Water Department and 10-Year Street Bond.

ADDISON AND STANDARD STREETS FROM FRANCIS AVENUE TO COLTON PLACE The project will rehabilitate Addison and Standard streets from Francis Avenue to Colton Place and Beacon Avenue from Dakota Street to Nevada Street. The project includes upgrading stormwater drains and installing ADA curb ramps. Motorists are detoured to Francis Ave., Magnesium Rd., Division St., and Nevada St.
The $1.7 million project is being funded by the 10-Year Street Bond and City of Spokane Wastewater Department.

NORTHWEST BOULEVARD FROM ALBERTA TO MAPLE STREETS The project will rehabilitate Northwest Blvd. from Alberta to Maple streets, including a concrete intersection at Northwest Blvd. and Cochran St., and install ADA curb ramps where necessary. Northwest Blvd. from Ash to Alberta streets is reduced to one lane in each direction. Additionally, Alberta St. is closed at Northwest Blvd., and Cochran St./T.J. Meenach Bridge is closed to southbound motorists at its intersection with Northwest Blvd. The detour is Wellesley or Garland avenues to Ash St. then to Maxwell Ave., onto Pettit Dr. and vice-versa.
The $1.9 million project is being funded by the 10-Year Street Bond and Spokane Transit Authority.

NEVADA STREET FROM NORTH FOOTHILLS DRIVE TO BROAD AVENUE
The project to rehabilitate Nevada St. from N. Foothills Dr. to Broad Ave. is progressing. Nevada St. from N. Foothills Dr. to Empire Ave. has reopened to local traffic. Nevada St. from Empire to Wellesley avenues is closed including the Nevada St. and Empire Ave. intersection. Motorists will be detoured to Crestline or Division streets. Wellesley Ave. will remain open. The project will include a full depth curb-to-curb rehabilitation. Sewer services will be upgraded, and ADA curb ramps will be installed where necessary.

The project includes installing a new signal at Monroe St. and Wellesley Ave. and installing ADA curb ramps at the intersections. Wellesley Ave. from Wall to Maple streets remains closed, and Monroe St. at its intersection with Wellesley Ave. is reduced to one lane in each direction. Alternate routes are at Garland and Rowan avenues.

THURSTON AVENUE FROM ARTHUR TO CRESTLINE STREETS The project to rehabilitate Thurston Ave. from Arthur to Crestline streets is progressing. The project will rehabilitate Thurston Ave. from Arthur to Crestline streets and surrounding residential streets including: Crestline St. from Thurston to 39th avenues; Helena, Hogan and Madelia streets from 42nd to Thurston avenues; Napa St. from 44th to 37th avenues; Perry Street from 45th to Thurston avenues; and Pittsburg St. from 44th to 37th avenues. Additionally, sewer upgrades and ADA curb ramps will be installed where necessary. Motorists are detoured at Grand Blvd. from 29th Ave. to High Dr./43rd Ave.; High Dr./43rd Ave. from Grand Blvd. to Hatch Rd.; and Hatch Rd. from 43rd Ave. to Perry St. The remaining streets are closed to traffic with local access maintained.

NELSON STREET FROM MISSION TO MARSHALL AVENUES The project is progressing to rehabilitate Nelson St. from Marshall to Mission avenues and the surrounding residential streets including: Indiana Ave. from Lacey to Regal streets; Marshall Ave. from Nelson to Regal streets; Nora Ave. from Lacey to Regal streets; S. Riverton Ave. from Lacey St. to Ermina Ave.; Regal St. from Mission to S. Riverton avenues; S. Crescent Ave. from Lacey to Regal streets. The project will also install ADA curb ramps where necessary. Intermittent closures will take place on S. Riverton Ave. from Lacey to Haven streets; S. Riverton Ave. from Haven to Ermina streets; Regal St. from Mission to S. Riverton avenues; Nelson St. from Mission to Marshall avenues; Nora Ave. from Lacey to Regal streets; Indiana Ave. from Lacey to Regal streets; S. Crescent Ave. from Lacey to Regal streets; and Marshall Ave. from Nelson to Regal streets. Local access is being maintained.

HAVANA STREET OVERPASS The project will construct an overpass over the railroad viaduct on Havana St. north of Broadway Ave. is progressing. The bridge will have 4 traffic lanes; the outside traffic lane will be a shared bike lane. Sidewalks will be added on each side. Traffic is detoured to Fancher Rd.
The $7.9 million project is funded by the Washington State Freight Mobility Board, State Transportation Improvement Board, federal sources, Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroad, STA, and the City of Spokane.

RESIDENTIAL STREET SWEEPING
Sweeping will be done between 6 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Residents are asked to move their vehicles from the street during sweeping. The schedule is available on the City’s web site at www.spokanecity.org and will be updated weekly. The second round of street sweeping is in process. Citizens also can get updates by calling the City’s street maintenance hotline at 456-2666. In the coming week crews will sweep the areas bounded by these streets:
Northwest: Northwest Blvd. to Maxwell Ave. and Hemlock St. to Monroe St.
Mission Ave./Maxwell Ave. to Cora Ave. and Division St. to Monroe St. Monroe St. to Division St. and Bridge Ave. to Maxwell Ave. Pettit Dr./Maxwell Ave. to Bridge Ave. and Evergreen Rd. to Monroe St.

Traffic Obstructions AND LANE CLOSURES
· Motorists will encounter closures and obstructions while crews work on the County Sewer Project. Myrtle St. from Fourth to Third avenues remains closed. Additionally, minor disruptions may occur at the northwest corner of Julia St. and Sprague Ave.
· City of Spokane Street Department crews will be:
§ Repairing High Dr. from 29th to 21st avenues. Lane restrictions remain be in place, and possibly detours. Additionally, crews will be working on the shoulder of Austin Rd. from Five Mile to Quamish roads Monday Aug. 23.
Maintaining the Maple St. Bridge between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. One lane of traffic will be closed while crews are working.
