Anne Kirkpatrick Chief of Police |
Police Chief Anne Kirkpatrick leads the 380-person, $40 million Spokane Police Department. The Chief works to ensure that the community feels a sense of security from harm and has a high level of trust and confidence in the Police Department. As such, she ensures that the department is properly staffed, trained, and equipped to accomplish that mission. She strives to be transparent and accountable to the public and is working to make the department stronger. Background: Chief Kirkpatrick joined the Spokane Police Department in September 2006. Previously, she served as the Chief of Police in Federal Way; the Chief of Police in Ellensburg, Wash.; Director of the Criminal Justice program at Green River Community College in Auburn, Wash.; and a police officer and sergeant at the Redmond, Wash., Police Department. She started her career at the Memphis, Tenn., Police Department. She also has served as a guest speaker at instructor at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. The Chief holds a law degree from Seattle University, a master's degree in counseling from the University of Memphis, and a bachelor's degree in business administration from King College. |
